ok my 1990 gxl's driver door handle wont open from the outside, i have the pannel off right now and i cant figure out what it is. The spring works, but i dont think the rod is connected or somthing, because no rod moves when i pull up the handle. Can anyone describe what I need to do, maybe attach a rod or somthing, its very hard to get in their, So I dont know what to do. Any help will work, thanks.

 

You're probably missing one of the plastic end pieces that goes on the end of the rod. Pull apart the other door and compare the two to see what's missing.

The door handles break all the time. Pull it out via the 2 (10mm) nuts and disconnect the two rods.
I bet you will see a broken lever arm.
Coincidentally, they are cheap from the dealership, and come painted.
