Drive shafts and rear ends. (no pun intended)
Lets talk driveshafts.
I know mazdatrix makes a Driveshaft that will bolt a TII trany to an N/A rear.
Does anyone make the reverse? or....
Can a stock N/A driveshaft be made to mate properly with a TII rear by drilling the flange at 45°?
Anyone tried something as silly as this?

Yes you can drill the pinion shaft flange for the N/A driveshaft. I did it many years ago when working on my racecar. The car started life as a TII but I built it with a carbed engine and N/A trans. I didn't feel like swapping the rear ends. You will need to recess the flange on the back side just a little so each bolt head will sit flush on the flange. I think I used an automatic drive shaft.
Personally I wouldn't drill it. I would get the TII flange, press the u-joint out and put a replacable u-joint in. You can get them from arizonadrivelines.com and rockforddriveline.com. The u-joints were around $20 a piece w/ shipping.
