FL drive shaft problems need help

Well after a while with no problems with my 89 rx7 vert 5 speed the other day when I started out in first gear i heard a pop like a hammer taping metal from the rear and the shifter started shaking. less shaking 2nd and less in 3rd and so on I don't know where to start bushing, ujoint ,tranny or what CAN ANYONE HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

start by inspecting the driveshaft, should have no slop but that does not mean it is good. you need to remove it to be 100% sure that the u-joints aren't the cause.

I was looking through my FSM today and apparently there sometimes are balance washers on the rear yoke where it bolts to the rear end . If there are any on it mark them and make sure they go back on the same place .

just ck it moves around about an inch

looks like the u joint bad also tranny mount bad is there anything I need to know about removing the drive shaft. I read that u can replace the ujoint even though they say u cant with a430-10 a is there any truth to that

you can but i would recommend having a driveshaft shop do it or just buy the mazdatrix serviceable driveshaft already done.

these shafts are relatively tight and hard to work with, not an amateur job to get good results.
