You better get up to the top of the drift world in the next 4-5 years before the fad dies off.

Realistically you should probably try to get there in the next 1-2 years, before 3/4 of the American drift scene is domestic V8s.

lol nice man... nice... but u agree with me? this whole street racer sterotype thing gets me into a lot of ****.. i get pulled over just so cops can check me out... like last weekend i was driving all over the place, i went from my gf's house to my parents, and back... in that hour and a half drive i was pulled over by 3 sets of cops who all claimed that "A red Mazda was seen street racing in the vicinity of blah blah where-ever" the funny thing is the places they were sayin i was "street racing" were a good 45 min away from each other... no way in hell i could be here and there at the same time,, ******* dumb.... the worst part is i had to call my gf and my parents on my cell everytime i got pulled over so they could verify my where-abouts... wut a waste of my time...

i love people who think kicking the rear-end out every once in a while is drifting...... doing doghnuts, and getting sideways around one turn isnt drifting! its sliding! some people i know will call me saying they are out "drifting", when i ask where they are, they are like "in a parking lot"..... im like, "your not friggen drifting, you pitching your car sideways uncontrollably" thats far from drifting!

being able to drift involves being able to consistantly take turn after turn completely sideways, and having control of it the entire time.......

ive been driving for 8 years, and have been "sliding" for a long while, but i am far from calling myself a drifter! im nowhere near skilled enough to call what i can do "drifting".... but ill get there one day! i just think being able to control a car that is technically out of control amazing!

i am with you bro...i learned the basics here in japan and i learned first hand with some japanese friends and i still dont consider my self safe enought to drift my baby

thats why i am getting another 7 " a daily driver" for those of you who seen my car it would really hurt if i was to crash it drifting in a parking lot

pkay...so back to the original question...what do you need to drift? I gather from the responese : humility, seat time, lsd, proper suspension and horsepower doesn't hurt. Anything else?

Gp Sports makes an angle kit for us, its about 150 or so. Also some good front tires as well as back but without front tires, you will get oversteer and all you will be doing is circles.

you absolutely NEED without exception an LSD to learn how to drift. dont be a stupid cheap idiot, its a NECESSITY. dont come tell me about your friend who drifts without an LSD, he sucks. Dont tell me about that team in japan that drifts exclusively on open diffs, none of them learned to drift on open diffs and they all have ridiculous insane amounts of other suspension work. dont listen to all the freakin idiots, you NEED an LSD. I'm gonna e-thug the next person who says you dont.
