i love how the drifting posts always turn into people gettin pissed...not sayin drifting b26 isnt a douche because he's already proven he is...its just funny to see drifting in the title and all the lil jdm crazy kids come outta the woodwork to talk about how they're a drift champ cuz this one time they put food trays from mcdonalds under the rear tires of their civic, locked the ebrake and tached their vtech out n dropped the clutch (assuming they can even drive a stick)

everyone knows the neon lights warm the pavement right before your tires hits it giving you better traction

**** IT!!! I'm going to quit drifting as of this second cause of all the dumb ***** in the scene........ok I'm a drifter again as of know. I will practice some of my drifting skills on GT4 then hit the streets later........On a serious note, I got fucked due to being dumb and drifting when I shouldn't have been. I lost my license for six months and got put on 2yrs probation for it, cause I had a bad driving record...My own ******* fault, now I take it to the track.

An LSD is nice, but it's not a necessity. You may want to work on your suspension. The rear end of the Fc is generally very easy to control. Easy to catch over steer when it is occuring. Of course having a turbo is going to help you out but you can do just fine n/a if you keep your revs high.

If you're just learning practice with the parking brake and see how it feels to have your rear slide out. When you feel you're ready then move up to brake drifting/clutch kicking. I've been to a couple of track days and there are tons of beginers so dont think anyone is going to single you out. Also be aware that drifting but's stress on a car, especially a stock car. So dont be surprised if you drift alot then you'll be working on your car alot, fixing this and that.

Like I said my best reccomendation is to seek out some good suspension upgrades. I run koni yellows myself and love them, and dont worry about being n/a when I was n/a I did just fine as do alot of others drivers.

Hope I could be of some help.

first off.... just go to a HUGE open parking lot (or that track) and learn how to do good donuts...big ones...then work from there...

if you need an LSD to keep the drift going.. get that. its pretty expensive$800-$1,200, but worth it.

you dont need a lot of power to drift, my friend has like 88hp in his corolla, and he's one of the best here in vancouver...

hope that helps.

it all comes down to seat time. the more practice, the better.

cheers,Dan.

Looks like someones insecure about his sexuality!

Look guy...you really give drifters a bad name, especially younger drifters. We have bad reputations enough as it is god dammit. Stop perpetuating the stereotype.

Interestingly, this is the single statement that the ignorant always fall back upon when they haven't a leg to stand on. "You don't know me".

We don't need to, we've seen your kind plenty of times. Learn to read, spell and think coherently, then come back.

I'm terrified of drifting after being in an accident in a Mini cooper. (just fyi: Minis don't fair so well drifting on a ~15 degree sloped street at 60 mph in a 90 degree turn. Apparently that's not blatantly obvious to a kid who just got his license a couple of weeks ago. I don't ride with him anymore, seeing as he drives his other parent's Honda CRV now. Don't think we would have been as lucky in that)

But, there is in fact one thing that scares me more than drifting... and that is our generation being run by people like this:

I never said you were 16 scooter. i said 'younger' and unfortunately, to most people on this forum, ages 1-25 is usually considered 'younger'. And if you're referring to me then yes, I am 17, but as I'm sure my ARTICULATION and PROPER USE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE shows, its not chronological age that matters, its maturity. and digitalsolo is right, we DO know you. you're no new breed mang.

yeah the need turbo and **** statement is stupid.

Never mind E-thugging. We have a whole E-gang!!!

Anyway. LSD is not needed but is nice to have.

I would almost say that not having LSD is a good thing for beginners.
It will leave one rear tire to act as an anchor so you do not spin out as much. You will have a bit more control over the drift since one tire isn't wanting to go out like the other.

Although f you switch to LSD you may have to redo your knowledge since the same stunt can send you into snap oversteer.

I would recommend wet pavement to practice on to save tires and reduce the speed needed. Smaller/skinnier tires should help you lose traction in an NA as well.

if you could call having the rear kick out and call that drifting, then you dont need a lsd...

if you want to drift, then you need one.
