Electronics are a world apart from what an "electrician" deals with. Building circuits is nothing at all like wiring sockets and light bulbs. If you don't have any electronics knowledge, it's best to practice first. Buy the Megasquirt Stimulator and assemble it before you go and start working on the 'Squirt itself. This will at least give you some practice in the type of soldering required, even though you may not understand what you are soldering. For the most part, the rotary specific modifications are well documented so if you can follow the instructions it's likely something you can do without much electronics knowledge. But if something goes wrong, you're screwed.

Do you work at Format? I may know this RX-7 guy...

nope. My buddy is using MS on his n/a 7 and I have personally used it with another friend on his Eclipse... I was meaning his swap is going at it the hard way when S4 to S4 (atleast intake and electronics) would be easier

Sounds good then. There's a big Megasquirt section here that you are probably already aware of which will be of great help with base maps and wiring info. If you need help with the 'Squirt I've done a bunch, but be aware that I don't half-*** wiring. This is a much better way of doing things then cobbling together the S4 and S5 ECU harnesses.

The guy with the 302 I have not seen in years. 1st gen with lakepipes...not really my style, but kind of cool.

Motor's Going In Today!

I picked up a MINT 87TII Chassis last week from Joe at RPM motorsports (GREAT GUY!)
no rust at all on this car 141,000kms,lsd,4 piston calipers
i'm goin to drop the motor in it today an start bolting up the mechanical things
I still need a FMIC,boost sensor and exhaust to get it fired up.....but hopefully within the next couple weeks

i'll post picsof what i get done today later on this afternoon

heres some before pictures....i scrubbed the engine bay down....now its spotless!

Is that a JDM EM harness? USA harnesses have two plugs in that area. Just asking. Never seen a JDM EM harness before in real life. Talking about the picture you posted of the harness.

yeah it was a jdm engine harness on ebay

i can take some close up pics of any of the connectors on the jdm harness if you need them ...or write out the wire colours

i just joined the S4 FEM 01 02 cables.....its basically splicing some grounds...direct wire connections and the couple wires your left over with are useless
