dreaded drivers side door no open...
Mine was like that a while back, I finally managed to break mine loose so I could open the door to get the panel off. Just WD-40 everything in there like there's no tomorrow and work the rods up and down until it starts working again.
Door handles are useful to have. When I bought my car both sides didn't work. Crawling in through the hatch stopped being fun after a couple days.

It's like when your stater goes bad, and it's the only car we have, so we push started it everywhere we went to get parts to fix the other one

WD-40 disolves teflon and plastics... and gee what are the bars connected with??? Teflon inserts. And toss in the fact that WD-40 is a wet lubricant that attracts dust and dirt, to gunk it all up even further
I do not know how many times I must say this WD-40 is not for automotive use, but rather for use in your home on sqeeky door hinges. It should never ever ever ever ever ever ever be used on a car.
My driver's door lock works sporadically--some mornings the key turns immediately, sometimes it won't turn at all. I open the passenger door and reach across to unlock the driver's side (or, if the top is down, I just unlock the passenger door, then go around and reach inside to unlock the driver's door). Been thinking about calling a friend who is a locksmith, but I don't trust him to take off the door panel.

I think the best would be dry graphite lube, but I have used white lithium in an emergency (ie, had no dry graphite and the alternative was breaking the key in the lock). Keep in mind that dust and dirt attracts to liquid or greasy lubricants.
I was locking my car tonight and as i shut the door i noticed my handle was limp (ie. no positive latching/etc.). Now I can't get it open from inside or out as far as I can tell. How the hell do I get my door panel off if I can't open the door? What should I do?
My passengers is dukin it right now. My passenger door was damaged when someone tried to break it and from then on i had to hold the handle up in order to let it close. THen i took it to the mechanic and it came back permenantly locked. Im assuming they slammed it till ti stayed shut. Im gonna wait till my car is running again before looking at it.

Couldn't I just get a new key lock set for the whole car?

My door handle broke on mine 2 weeks ago. The plastic threaded piece on the handle rod finally snapped and now the rod's just floating in there. I think I'm going to stop by home Depot and find a nut and some bolts which match the thread. Nothing like Home Depot racing!
