Drain oil before/after removing engine?

Drain oil before/after removing engine?

Hi, I'll be removing my engine sometime this week and was wondering if I should start up my car to get my car warmed up to drain the oil? Should I drain it after I remove it? Or does it not really matter?

I know its a stupid question but I just wanted to be careful with what I do.

I would say at least drain the oil. May not have to warm it up. I am saying drain it because of the oil cooler. I cannot remember how the oil runs. However, there may be oil waiting to drain when you remove the oil cooler lines.
