If all you're doing is a downpipe then you should be ok because your boost shouldn't go up too much. If it does and you hit fuel cut--8.6 PSI-- then you could get by with a fuel cut defencer. Do you plan on any more mods?

If you run a full exhaust and intake you'll get into the 13's if your motor is strong, but you'll need an ECU upgrade. A front mount intercooler with the exhaust and intake would definitely make 13's. 170 K is alot if it's the original motor. So if you do alot of mods you may be driving on borrowed time.

Thats great! thats the kind of input i was looking for, thanks. The car runs very strong and I think its the origanal motor. I bought it a month ago and a-spec racing tuned it up. My first time to the track with a turbo rotary. I ran a 14.7 with lots of wheel spin and shifting easy. Is that about wright.

What year is your car? 14.7 is a very good time for a stock car with 170K.

I went to the track about 2 weeks ago weather was nice and cool but I felt I could still go faster. I launched 4000rpm and road the clutch out until the wheels finished chirping then eased on the gas and continued the wheels chirping. My runs before I figured this launch out was 15.01 then I pulled a 14.76 then the track shut down. And to answer the question its a 87 with a inbox K&N filter. Do you think it could be rebuilt? Dealer checked the compression and said it was good. I do most of my own work but when I bought it I was scared of it.
