dose anyone know how to take out a universal joint

Cool dose anyone know how to take out a universal joint

my universal joint is going out on me and i don't how to get it out and where can i get a new one

It is part of the driveshaft..


You either need to get a replacement driveshaft, or take it to a machine shop to have a new joint pressed in. Which i guess is possible, just not very popular.

mazdatrix.com sells replacement driveshafts that ARE NOT mazda driveshafts (IE you CAN replace the ujoints should they fail) for ~242.

If you have a machine shop press out the joint, they need to "weld" the new caps onto shaft, as there is now way to secure the joint in place. Best to get another driveshaft, either used or new.

yeah you'd be better off getting the mazdatrix one. I did. No complaints here.

Why did mazda make the damn u-joints so stupidly!?

They made them that way for MONEY,MONEY,MONEY! Mazda prices for OE parts are rediculous.
