Door speakers instal??
Hey guys, I have an '86 GXL. I'm just wondering if it'd be tough to put speakers in the doors. I know some modles came with this set up stock... so I'm guessing it woulnd't be too tough. Has anyone done this? And is it worth it?

You'll find a wealth of details if you'll do a search on this (top right corner of this page). It's been covered MANY MANY MANY times.
Stock door locations are in the center of the door above the handrest and in the front lower corner. The OEM corner speakers use a 1" spacer for clearance issues and you may need a bit larger spacer for aftermarket speakers. You can probably source some cheap OEM door panels with the built in speaker pod/cover so it looks OEM. For the best stereo imaging you want to tilt the speakers to face the center of the car at ear level. Tweeters or midranges in the dash corners will help with stereo imaging as well.
