door light still on

After a fews days of checking for fraied wires or spliced wires i can't find anything, i checked in the mirror housing, behind the cluster gauge, idoit lights behind the glove box , under the steering colum, behind the center counsel were the stock radio was. if they were spliced or fraied i covered them up with electical tape. I still can't find out why the door light is on. i know the fuse is blown and will keep blowing if i put another fuse in. this is the room fuse thats 7.5 amp.
Could it be the door switches on the bottom of the door have gone bad? is that common for this type of problem?

Well the switch is what controls the door lamps..... duh
=)
Now to sum it up, is it your DOOR lights on the sides or the lights that utrn on when the door opens (On the roof) if its the first, check those door switches, you can also take a look at the wiring diagram look for the door switches, door lamps, and trace the circuit and see where else it could've gone wrong.
I'd put money on the switches, if they broke, well your lamp would stay on most likely.

Go to a junk yard, the switch looks very simple to remove.
(In my car right now LOL) just one screw, so yeah I'd try a junk yard first, then ebay might have one.

do you get a volt reading or gauges stay on also?
because the 7 im working on does the same thing...
weve decided to put in a new wiring harness so we get a chance to redo all the grounds.
now when to we are going to get around putting in the new harness?? idk lawl

But if the light is staying on, it won't be a door switch unless the plastic plunger part of the switch (that is under the rubber cap in the door jam) is broken off.
Pinched wire probably... are both the door lights and dome light on???

if your popping fuses, then you have a short somewhere? I would start unplugging things until the fuses stops blowing
or unplug everything, put in a new fuse. start plugging things back in until the fuse blows... technically not the right way to do it, but might help isolate the problem without the right tools

Yeah I missed the part about blowing fuses.
Blowing fuses means that the issue is on the hot side of the light, not the ground side (such as the door pin). So anything on the ground side (such as the door pins, the CPU, the Idiot lights) all can be ruled out, as none of them could cause that problem.
Blowing fuses, is probably related to a mis--wired radio, since memory for the radio is on that same circuit and 99% of the time if the fuse is blowing it is because Micky Mouse installed the radio.
