Door Handle Part Help
S5 TII purchased new and doing some needed work.
Mazdatrix lists only one o/s door handle for each side, but when looking at the OEM parts
list, they list alarm/illuminated separately, so my question is, are all the handles the same
and can the TII wiring be transferred to the new handle(s) or do the Mazdatrix come with
the alarm/illumination?
Just wanted to be clear before shelling out $400.
I know I can give them a call, but thought I'd get some info first as there are other OEM
dealers that have the handles listed for less$$.
TIA

The wiring for the alarm and the illumination can be transferred from your current door handle to the replacement. I know I've taken pictures of this to document it, but don't know if I have added it to my restoration thread yet.
The door handles from Mazdatrix will not come with the wiring for alarm and illumination on them. At least the one I ordered did not (which was possibly the last PS Brilliant Black door handle in the States).

What color is your car? Most of the handles on Mazdatrix's site range from $104 to $125 each unless it is Brave Blue Mica which is $185.
Yep. I got one from the junkyard from an '86 that didn't have either one. The bosses were still there and the alarm(I don't have illumination but the screw bosses etc. were there) transferred right over. I think I paid $10 for it so that is an option if your willing to paint them.

Thanks again guys. The handles are Blaze red, in fact I have 4 good ones, all with the electrical connections, 2 off my car, 2 off the '91 Turbo in the pole shed, but they all have the handle scraping the flat part at the top, and over time has worn off the paint just above the handle. As I'm having the car repainted I wanted new handles to install after the paint job.
Better check the lock light, but securing a light, good idea, bulb number?.
Just an FYI
Some moron ran into the driver's side door when the wife was stopped, Oct last year. What a nightmare as no OEM parts (door, side skirt) are available. When the car was 6 months old, a young fellow backed into the right front corner, Maple Shade Mazda did the repair, paint over time has darkened and shows some hairline cracks on the cover, so secured a new front cover. Have 3 sets of body extensions so will have them painted. Also have 3 factory front spoilers, 1 original, 2 additional factory, but have the had the other 2 repaired and will have them all repainted. Used the door from the '91, also Blaze red.
Just thought I'd throw this in. Anybody ever see the banjo bolt on the oil cooler this tight?
The feed line to the cooler has been seeping ever since KD Rotary replaced the engine, so with the bumper off good time to change the 2 crush washers. Hit it with my electric impact, no go. Hit it with my air impact, no go. So, breaker bar and 4' extension, finally broke loose. Replaced the 2 washers and no leaks, guess I was lucky.
Once again, thanks for the info and it always amazes me as to the knowledge on this site.
Whatever question I've had over the years, have always gotten a quick reliable response.
I've owned the car for just over 25 years and being an "old guy" now, haven't done much work on the car other than clutch replacement, and a few minor upgrades, so the resources here have been extremely helpful.
Thanks and the car will probably outlast me!
