Door Frame Damage: Opinions?

Hey guys as i posted in the lounge before someone hit me about 2 days ago in m fc and messed it up pretty bad.... but when you think about it all you gotta do is replace the door and the drivers side fender and the car looks like nothing but today as i was getting out of my car i look at the hit and i see he kinked the frame where the door hinges connect to that "pillar" part .. should i part out the car and buy another with the cash or what??? i really dont want to destroy this car everything works everything is oringal i have orignal window sticker, manual, and the how to check your oil and coolant little booklet, all gauges work i mean this car is 100% complete... do you think i should just take the door off and send it to get the frame pulled??give me some suggestions guys.....

dont waste my time with punctuation i hate it and always will.......

Thanks In Advance

is their insurance going to pay for the repairs?

new laser frame alignment technology can get the frame perfectly straight but the frame may have been slightly weakened at that point, it all depends on how you drive though: a good frame shop can get the frame back to near its original condition but it will be weaker so if you race the car or do any heavy driving it may buckle again. you also have the option of having the frame repaired and then add in some frame stiffening foam which will make it stronger than originally so yes you can still keep the car and have it repaired if you chose or you can part it out, it's all up to you.

That can be fixed no biggy. A good frame guy could fix it up. The only thing is the other insurance company is going to total the car. So, it will have a salvage title.

i don't know that they have the right to do that with the title if you can prove the car is worth more than blue book value.

Please use a more descriptive thread subject. I have asked you this several times before. I also edited this thread with a much more appropriate title.

Good luck proving that. The repair value will be at least 2500.00 and high book might be 4000.00 if he is lucky. They will total it and cut him a check for the KBB on the car.

Sounds about like what I'm going through....car got a slight t-bone on the drivers side. Fubared the fender, door, and part of the quarter behind the door. I'm almost done fixing my damage....I'll post pictures of the progress in a second.

Replacing the rear quarter section with a piece I cut from a donor car in a junkyard. I'm just replacing the skin and reconstructing the skeleton of the body.

Just some more pictures. First picture is of the bent shock. Top of the tire was rubbing pretty badly. Got a replacement for the shock and door for $75.

Dude, I don't know how you did it, but I probably would've whipped out the 6-D cell maglight and started beating someone's ***.

Icemark has put the stiffener foam in his frame rails so he would know more on where to inject it, it won't get anywhere that it isn't supposed to go if you do it properly.
