I'm having a slight problem with my rx7, and I can't quite figure it out as most of my experience comes from carbed cars, and I'm rather new to fuel injection. Anyway the problem happened all of a sudden, while driving normally on the road. All of a sudden I experienced an awful idle quality, moving from 300 to 1500 rpms while idling. The engine also died when I came to the first stop, and the car behaved very poorly. The car smokes a lot and it's blue. I did a compression test and it passed, the car starts up, but has the same poor idle and driving quality. I'm thinking it may be the purge control valve, but I'm not sure, does anyone else have any idea as to what else I should check? Thank you.

 

i would check for vacuum leaks, then check your tps, and your maf. just an idea

 

OK I'll do that tomorrow morning and let you know. I also forgot to mention the engine shakes, A LOT with the car idling. I hope that might lead to more what's going on.
