Red face Don't flame. I've searched,. how much does a 88 gxl n/a weight! EXACTLY! ANYONE?

hello guys i have the fat model s4. 1988 gxl N/A Manual transmission i have seen threads with crazy numbers and some not so crazy.. as of right now i don't know what to believe... I've seen 2625, 2650, 2800?? I WILL GIVE An ESTIMATE OF 2700 pounds? If anyone has weighted their car on those truck scales .. what was the entire weight?
I have no speakers, no a/c compressor, no a/c lines, no a/c condensor.. where in the hell is the a/c dryer? Also i have no tools/ spare tire.. can anyone give me THEW BEST estimate.. im talking no gas, no driver.. just the fat gxl itself remember those 17 inch wheels are fat ***!..

2785lbs stock form.
How do you expect someone to tell you how much your car weighs if its no longer in stock form?? You have to take it yourself to get wieghed, we can only guess what its at due to what you have removed.
i found that here: http://home.earthlink.net/~icemark/

I'm conviced my GXL Is down to a lean 2400lbs, on avg.

With the removal of A/C, Power Steering, Clutch Fan and Shroud, Cat, RB Header over Manifold (reduced weight), ACV, Air Pump, EGR Valve, Rats Nest, Tar Insulation, AAS, Rear Undermat, all Towing Hooks, all Wiper Containers, Subzero Start components, Rear Wiper, Headlight Motors and Headlights themselves (made way for EB Kit) and other miscellanious stuff. I'm thinking to hard right now.

If theres anything else, within reason, I've removed It.

GXL? I think not.

Uhhhh... the stock 1988 GXL wheels were 15", Turbos got 16's.

With everything you've taken out, it's hard to call whats left a GXL-- why didn't you start with either an SE or a GTU??

The easiest way to find out what the car weighs is GO to one of those scales at a truck stop, it's only a few bucks, but probably not too accurate at only 2500 lbs. Better yet, find a landscape place that sells decorative stones bulk, most will have a fairly accurate scale there.

Just drive in, get the "before weight", spend a few minutes looking around, and tell them you didn't see what you were looking for on the way out. Besides, who cares how much is weighs without gas-- unless you plan to put it on display hanging from cables or something....

Good point on the stock rims. I have 12lber's all around (Anterra's) further reducing the weight.

I also replaced the Steele Hood In favour with a TII Aluminum one In what was to be a TII Conversion.

Aluminum Flywheel and upgraded Clutch. (Quite a difference here)

Upgraded Momo Millenium Wheel and Momo Apache Shift **** lightened up some more. (Believe It or not

Sparco Sprint race Seats weighing In at 15lbs each, as opposed to the 35lber's.

Theres some more too. i can't think of It right now.

Just go to your local truckstop, or landfill, and ask to weigh your car. its usually free.
