doing a N/A to TII swap
well I know I said I was doing it a few times before and I also talked about just rebuilding my N/A
well I need a motor somewhat quick now that I think my coolant seals are going and it seems the cheapest way is to go with a J-spec.
right now my car is the 87 sport
I plan on using the N/A tranny till I get the money to replace it.... yes I know the N/A tranny is weak but I don't plan on getting on it till I get the TII tranny in there. though the N/A tranny in my car was on a motor that was running low 13's
I know I need the motor which should come with all the turbo intake and ****, also know I need the wiring harness and the ECU.
anything else you guys know of that I need or that I should replace while I am swapping motors.
what would the diff be between a series 4 and series 5 motor. I know compression is higher on the s5. and the s4 is supposed to be better for all out high boost apps but I don't plan on running anymore then maybe 15 psi in the future (not yet no money for new turbo) so would the 9:1 rotors be able to handle that fairly easy? also would there be anything else to worry about if I put a s5 motor in a s4 car?
is there a write up I can follow to help me out on hthis as well.
any help would be welcome as I can not wait much longer and I don't want to get rid of this car and end up buying some cheap 87 honda of some sort.
one last thing as far as motor mounts should I just go ahead and replace them with the polyurathane ones or just leave the stock ones in place ?
