I am a 1988 rx7 13b. Most of the time it idles alright. When i put it in drive it dies unless you give it some gas. I dont have a clue what could be wrong with it and would appreciate any help at all. Thanks

it also dies when the air conditioner is on and you stop at a red light.

i may have a similar problem as you... when i'm driving around and come to a stop while the car is still in 1st and i clutch in when i come to a stop... the car will almost die and idel will drop to below 500 and the car will sputter unless i do one of 2 things....

give it gas... then all is good.

or take it out of first... the problem here is that it takes some strength ot pull it out of first... its like it is stuck... but the clutch pedal is all the way in...

I think my clutch's hydralic system isn't on par anymore... the master and slave needs to be replaced ithin... because its not fully dissenaging the clutch from the pressure plate?

 

ok never mind... i did'nt see that last post...

go check to see if your BAC valve is still functioning... u can find how do to this in the Factory service manual.

 

would that be the problem even on an automatic

 

Well now it wont idle so i cant check the bac valve. Could there be another way to check it.
