a guy that lives here in harford county is selling his 88 convertible. It has been converted to turbo, has aftermarket turbo, racing hart wheels, leather, all emissions removed, no power steering, basically no engine acessories that don't add horsepower,3 inch exhaust and downpipe, hks super sound blow off, yada yada yada the list goes on and on!

But I'm a little wary because the kid has been through 5 motors in this thing already! He says he is running 20lbs of boost on stock injectors. I can only assume that this is a stupid move, don't they max out at like 13psi? The cr seems real cean, never an accident, paint is nice, top is in good shape. car seems really nice. he says he is tired ofall the problems he's had with it in the past. I have a feeling that he just has no real idea what he's doing when it comes to the rotary motor. I know I can take good care of it. he wants 4 grand, I think I can get it for around 3... is this a good deal???

 

If it's a stock turbo along with those stock injectors, that explains the 5 engines. Those turbo's dont do well over 14psi, especially if it's got the stock intercooler. It may still be worth it however, I'd not go over $3,000 at most.

 

If he has been though 5 engines....how do you think he treats his car? My guess is he beats the heck out of it and over stresses the engine. I wouldnt buy it...besides...its a vert =P

 

I think that it is the stock turbo, and I'm sure that he does beat the hell outta it. But If I have it compression checked, and it all checks out, would'nt it be good deal?
