Adjusting the air mixture screw first requires jumpering the initial set connector. Did you do this?

streetports have lumpy idles if they are running rich. mine has a cat without an air pump and you can get a strong smell of fuel coming from the pipes. mine does this and it is fine, you may want to drop your idle slightly though. mine sits right below the 1k mark

even a huge street port should be able to idle smoothly with the right timing and fuel trims, especially above 1,000 rpm.

Are you aware that any RX whos rpm go over approx 1100-1200 rpm.............the ECU will advance the timing and make the idle not sound/be good. But then again 1100-1200 is not an idle speed. When the ECU sees that rpm and advances the timing, then the rpms will jump up a bit also.

Air screw on the dynamic chamber isn't going to do anything if the *idle* is that high. A waste of time messing with it.

In other words the timing is FIXED below 1200 rpm and over that it is NOT FIXED.

yeah i'm pretty sure the timing is still off my brother claims its all done by ear i know he's full of crap when a book tells you exactly how to do it. just need to get time when he is not there to do to it correctly. i did get the idle to come down to just below 1k had to turn the idle mixture screw almost all the way down. still bounces just that little bit but does sound a lot smoother. hopefully it stays that way now.
