Does this price look right to buy a rebuilt TurboII

Does anything seem wrong with this ad? It seems a little cheap for an '88 TurboII motor freshly rebuilt. (Not to mention that I can't even access www.importspecialties.com to verify that they even exist). What do you think?

Rebuilt by ImportSpecialties.com in Jan 2001. Currently has 2200 miles. Vehicle was totaled in rear-end collision. Rebuild included: New 3mm seals and springs, SE rotors, new rotor bearings, street-ported intake and exhaust ports, new oil pump, new oil seals, side seals and springs, '93 style corner seals and springs, new rotor housings. Engine is complete with front cover and oil pan. Shipping can be arranged in the continental US. Price stands at $1000 plus shipping.

That doesn't sound reliable. Ask around, there are some good dealers that price around 800-1500 for a t2 engine.

I should also mention that he did offer a 3 month warranty (probably the remaining warranty from the rebuild).

My friend wants $2700 for his 87 TII that got a complete rebuild about a month ago. If I had that kind of money I would own it already. Its silver so you know. Let me know if you are interested.

Says he used SE rotors...that makes no sense. The only SE I know of is either GSLSE 13b which are higher compression, or SE..as in 88 SE, 13b NA motor, neither of which would be beneficial in a turbo motor(more likely to detonate).

I wouldnt fool with it. There are people who build motors with new parts for $1200-1500(Im one of them).

I'd buy a j-spec if you want a cheap motor.
