Does Mazda still sell our engines?
I remember a few weeks ago someone mentioned that they got an engine to replace their blow one. Can't remember who or more info.
If some one can enlighten me?

yes they do. They should at every dealer. If you want a dealer that definately does, Call Malloy Mazda in Woodbridge VA and ask for Ray Crowe. He knows what he's talking about and most of his prices are better than Mazdatrix.

Nothing wrong with a rebuilt dealer engine. Sometimes you find rebuilds at rotary shops for pretty cheap because they use old parts they have laying around.
Although this is secondhand info, at last month's MSCW (Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington) meeting, there was some discussion that Ray Crowe of Malloy Mazda recently found he could no longer get Mazda reman engines for the FD. I'm not sure what the status is of FC engines since I haven't recently checked. Agreed that a quality rebuild is probably just as trustworthy, but we'll all have to worry a little when Mazda decides to stop manufacturing new housings, irons, rotors, etc.

I have a a mazda reman in my TII and it's been damn near indestructible. I've been really impressed with how well it's dealt with all the crap that's happened to it and would definitely buy another mazda reman when this one dies (if possible...)
i work in parts for a mazda dealer
i just checked availablility on reman rotary engines.
at the moment it is not looking like any are available through ordering.
i checked dealership availability, and i am showing one fd 13b turbo engine available at Mazda of Stockton in california. and another one at twin city mazda in alcoa, TN.
there is one s4 13bt at wyoming valley mazda in larksville, PA. and another one at Malloy mazda in woodbridge, VA
hope that helps some of you.

Mazda migrated all their US reman operations to their plant in Richmond VA. PM SleepyZ on rx8club, he works there. I remember him mentioning at one point that they were going to start doing remans for Rx-7's (they do Rx-8's mostly) after the plant finishes training from the Mazda master builders who fly in from Japan.
$4k Canadian for a re manufactured one (that's all they sell, no new ones), that's what I was quoted at my Mazda Dealer. Although it requires you to send them your core (shipping both ways was included, not sure about labor)
I am also recommending Kevin Landers as did previous posters. MAZDA is actually not making new 13bs. All of them are somewhat refab'd. Get in touch with R otary R esurrections. I blew my engine bad at 105 and he rebuilt the hell out of it at about 65% of price. He's near me in East Tennessee. PM me if you want more details.

ya i have one that was rebuilt in 97 by mazda it only has 30k on it but it has been verry good with no issues. compression is still factory spec only problem is she gets alittle hot some times (1/2) gauge on hot days
I wouldn't bother getting it reman'd by Mazda, there's lots of legit and reputable builders in NA that will do just as good or better of a rebuild than Mazda for a bit more than half of what it would cost you from Mazda. Or you could do it yourself
