does anyone make glass moonroofs for second gens???

Its hard to find a sunroof that isn't a little rusted. Mine has a tiny bubble less than 10mm in diameter but it is anoying to look at. I know that it will just spread over time; it is not above the paint yet though; just a bubble in the paint.

Does anyone know where I can get a glass one? I've seen first gens with glass sunrooves but no second gens.

I have seen one before!..it was on a 90 2nd gen that was sitting in the junkyard. Its the push UP type and it looks good. I was going to get it because i was planning to buy the whole black interior but had a change of heart. If you want i can go back and check if the glass moonroof is still there and maybe i can buy it and just pay me back!..just give me 50 bucks for labor though!

Yeah, but the glass moonroof we saw at the junkyard needs a special hole for it.

As far as stock fitting glass moonroofs, they are very rare. I don't know who makes them, but my friend has found 2 or 3 in the junkyard. He sold them for around 450 each.

They were an aftermarket item that replaced the stock sheetmetal with glass. Supposedly Mazdatrix used to sell them, you might contact them and see what they say about it. I used to think that I might like to have one, but I figured that the RX already has enough "greenhouse" glass already. I don't need more hot sunlight shining in.

A place called Pacific T-Top, Inc. used to sell them, I bought one for an 86 GXL many years ago, direct stock replacement. It was grey PPG tempered glass, not lexan. I found an old ad, they were at 714-891-3669. 15241 Transistor Lane, Huntington Beach, CA 92649.

Design Energy pictures a glass top in an old Mariah body package brochure I have, they may be worth a try also.

Good luck!
