A lot of guys have midpipes welded up using Borla XR-1 mufflers, or some magnaflows as presilencers. Apparently they really get the job done.

Racing Beat does sell a 3" presilencer for their Turbo Exhaust, but I'm not sure it would bolt up to any stock of aftermarket exhaust other than RBs. http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....tnumber=16425P Notice the Angled rear flange.

I have heard of people using Magnaflow parts on their exhaust systems, but I am not firmilliar with it so I cannot say.

yea i was thinking about a magnaflow or something in the middle but wasnt sure if it would kill any power or not, and i guess racing beat does have one, i probaly look over it like 10 times and missed it, thanks, i had a racing beat one before when i had 2.5 exhaust and it worked good, and as for the flanges and mounting thats no prob, i could change what i got to make it work, thanks

putting on a magnaflow won't hurt your performance too much....is it just an N/A?

and having a quiet RX-7 that makes as much power as a loud one isn't going to happen.......pick one or the other (to an extent)

but throwing on a silencer or any muffler isn't going to turn your car into some 3cyl Geo at the drop of a hat.......Ill bet you 50 bucks you can't ACTUALLY tell the differerence once you put it on.....other than the car being not so loud

wrong by putting a magnaflow or borla on you will not loose as much performance as because these units are made out of a heavy grade of SS and they change the sound of the exhaust from a high pitched rattle to a low deep rumble. I have a borla xr-1 in the middle of a 3 inch turbo back ehaust connecting to a super loud corksport system. With just a straight pipe this car was so loud it made kids cry when i drove by. Now with the borla in there it keeps it reasonable under 3.5k after that its still kinda loud but it sounds like a ferrari not a Jap.

Now I also am welding up a complete 4 inch turbo back magnaflow system now and I am totally impressed with these. They are thicker than a borla and the sound is even deeper. We tested one of these up against a friends hks hyper and just with me holding it up against the back of his until it totally changed the sound and he is picking up 2 of them right now to weld into place of his hks crap and just use the pipe. Plus the are cheap as hell at Jegs.com and free shipping. Nothing better than that.

its a turbo, and it sounds great, its just to loud to drive alot, i got a good stereo an amps and i have to have it cranked to hear it and i have a full interior, all my sound deading stuff is there, i dont really wanta change the sound, but i would rather change it then lose any performance, just gotta quiet it down, to much police attention

Had the same problem on mine so I went back and got a resonator put in no performance loss, keep it quiet under 4k and got rid of the "loudness" when not under load which I found the most irritating.

now with microtech and to4 - forget it - tooooooo loud ........but worth it

as mentioned before, either Borla or Magnaflow (just get SS) - i don't think you can lose either way.

Same experience here, except I am running an SSautochrome catback.

id like the presilencer but just a resonator could work good too, i dont mind it up higher rpm, but if you try to keep it quieter at certain times and cant thats not cool, just so regular is quieter
