Where on the FC is a "good" mounting spot for a roll cage? Aside from cutting through the floor and attaching directly to the heavy subframes....This is a problem with any unibody car.

I would quite like to know optimal mounting locations in an FC though. I've been doing some body work on my car lately, and the areas that the CP roll bar seems to weld to seem ideal.

if you guys wait it out hell drop the price to 150 , hes been doing that for a couple weeks now , he raised the price twice and lowered it once in the past 2 weeks , so im waiting for it to drop to 150 again................I dont know though jegs 8 point roll cage (not pre-welded) isnt a bad price its $220 and some change , the only reason i would buy the cp cage because of the price $150 (per chance that it drops again) is a beutiful price , but if it stays at 225 or 250 , Forget that you can get a 8 point for 220 (around there) , But i guess it depends on what your looking for in a cage , if your buying one for looks then The cp is perfect , but if your Scca , or something then i guess 4 is a bit *ehhh*..AHHH anyways ya you guys understand me .........lol

trying to build a racecar
IMO, the optimal place would be about 6 inches further towards the outside of the car from where the feet sit now. The piece of metal it is sitting on now is fairly thin, where-as the sub-frame rail running front-to-back, that the cross brace intersects, is quite thick.
OK here's an uber-lame attempt at showing where I would put the feet.

Much better! The only thing I plan on doing differently for my cage is to make the rear down tubes into an X and have them go right to the top of the shock mount.
I'm also going to make mounting tabs and bolt the hoop to the chassis where the shoulder belts attached.

not necessary, a little overkill but hey, each to their own. Glad to see others in the same boat. Another angle will better demonstrate the position of the rear drops and how I incorporated a tube between the towers also. PM me for more pics if you want.

The latitudinal rigidity of anything aft of the cabin crossmember (directly behind the seats in the FC3S chassis is moderately okay. While the car may not incuur side loads there is enough energy (and weaknesses) to merit fractional movement during highly spirited driving. In a some of the race cars I've driven or ridden in all you had to do was listen to hear the unibody twisting ever so slightly under the right conditions. So it simply increases the rigidity of the rearend, reducing surprise inertia. Can't hurt to have it there and since it shares the same mounting plates as the rear drops it helps reinforce there positions.
