does any company make a skinny

does any company make a skinny wheel 15x4 that will clear a TII 4 piston caliper without spacers... Ive tried billet specalities and weld with no luck and I'd perfer not to have a custom wheel made...

Thanks

I'm not sure what the size of the spare is, but I believe its an enkie and could possibly be used as a skinny...

Yeah I know some guys just use the spares as noted ^^^
I've also heard some of them just sand the speed warnings off the stock spare rubber and run it down the strip anyway

edit: 150+? hmm...

Put Motorcycle tires on it, or get these to replace the stock doughnuts.

the stock spare as pictured above works great with a nice Moroso, Coker, or MT skinnie tire on it.

You can also have your brake rotor machined down to fit the smaller brake caliper and then and weld wheel (or similar) will fit with no problem. Braking is still fine, Theres a few V8 FC guys that have done this.

The only other way is to either use an adapter, or use longer wheels studs with spacers. Plenty of people do that and are running in the 8's. It's perfectly safe.

I cant remember exactly. But i'm 99% sure you just have to turn down the diameter to the smaller rotor diameter from the 4 lug FC. Then just bolt on the smaller calipers from the 4-lug 2nd gen to your 5 lug car.

Most of the ones on eBay now are the 4-lug version. You can usually find the five-lug one for about the same price. The 5-lug is a 16" while the 4-lug is a 15". I know the 5-lug is 4" wide because I have a couple.

I have first gen SA running those turbo II spares with skinnies on them...I don't have the Turbo II brake up grade up front...

But as mentioned before you can have the caliper machined so they can take excess material off...Or the other way is to buy longer studs, use open end lug nuts, and use a spacer for clearance...You will be fine...I have pics in the old school section on the last page of my car...

the Four lug spare is a 15 incher

The 5 lug spare is 16 incher

I found a wheel that will work and looks awesome. Here it is in 8" wide but the manufacture says the center sections are the same for the 4 and it clears fine all the way around.

To save the trouble or have more rim options could you just go 16" . Is there that big of a weight savings on doing a 15 over just a 16" front rim or is there another reason to go 15"

I can tell you cause i had those exact rims, that the DO NOT fit with out a spacer or grinding on the wheel.

cyipher, what front rim are you running in that picture in post 7? the weld rims are really nice although saving money and going with the rx7 spares are tempting. How fast have people went on that spare rim or what is it rated for?
