Exclamation Do it yourself mass air bracket

This is a diagram of a bracket i have designed for 2nd gen mss air flow sensors
instead of ordering an expensive intake you can use the stock intake and all you remove is the air filter box you need.

1: a piece of sheet metal big enough to cover the squre hole or big ebough to make a custom cool box "heat shield box" for an aftermarket filter

2: Measure the diameter of the holes in the MAFS

3: draw them onto the piece of sheet metal and in between the four holes
draw the circle thats matches the diameter of the mouth of the aftermarket filter

4: tools drill ,drill bit and a clamp and a permanant marker.

Good luck with it if you choose to use the diagram, personly i feel the need to make it all in the name of my company thats just the designers outlook on things!

thanks,
Hailey Dunn

i know what he is trying to do , he is making a maf adaptor so you can put a cone air filter on instead of the clunky stock air cleaner. i guess a decent effort although you can buy maf adaptors for like 12 bucks at auto zone. atleast i got mine there.

There's only one problem...

You need to keep the stock rubber flex hose or something flexible if you substitute.

If you're using any of those "hard pipe" kits with silicone couplers, you're going to damage the clamps / hose / or AFM, cause the motor rocks while your just hard-mounted your AFM to the fender.

That looks like the hard way to do it. My AFM is supported at the front by a peice of 10mm flat aluminium bar with two bends and two holes. Took ~10min to make, is barely visable under the AFM and works perfectly.

We're talking about supporting the AFM, right?

I just used two stock airbox brackets and bolts to secure the AFM to the body. Works fine and takes all of five minutes and a quick reshaping of one of the brackets.

no just adapting a cone filter onto the mas through a piece of sheet metal drilled and folded as in the diagram. my mas and filter support is a different bracket.
