Do you like the FTP len's out or in?

 

mine are out...cause the mounts broke...

 

Either is OK, but if you take them out, you should paint the sides of the opening black.



Otherwise it looks like something's missing.

I like them either way....as long as the FTP's are clean and in good shape they look good. Mine were terrible so I took em out. The JDM ones are awesome looking though when clean.

 

I think alot of them are out because the posts always brake off..... I like em in.

I also like what sureshot said. But I think I'll stick with them in, but tinted black via VHT Niteshade.

Also, there was that *one* black Turbo II a couple weeks ago that had some modified FTP's with black mesh for centers? It looked wonderful IMO.

 

Oh yeah, I definitely think something looks broken if they're just removed.

i agree 100% just replace "in" with "out" ...lol

 

i dont like them out... it looks like your missing parts on your car... which makes it look "unfinished" ......... mine looked like ***, so i had them painted when i got my first paint job..... then i bought new jdm ones from corksport

leave them in, even if they look ugly

Depends on the car and what it's intended for...

A really clean FC with clean FTP's look good, but a beast needs his nostrils!!!

 

It doesn't look that bad in but looks great out. When they are out it gives the front end so much more aggressivness. they definatley look best out on a black fc though. In any case, good luck.

out as long as the holes are clean. and it also depends on the color of the car.





see? with black it looks good, but silver or what not may look tacky. it depends on how the car "feels" too, it'll tell you which it likes

 

I like my FTPs in, a nice completed look while still letting light go through (versus painted). My posts are still good and the lenses seal fine.

I did think about replacing hem with a metal screen to allow the passenger side cone filter to breath a ton.

 

Mine are out...but only because one of them shot out when a broke suddenly. And the other one was fogged up all the time. I even drilled holes in the back of them. Painting the inside black is a good idea tho (my car is red)

 

Cleaned and in, tinted black on a black car, clear on any other.

 

do you have a picture of them tinted on a black car?
