Do I really need this?

I have a 88T2 and planing to put a 3" down pipe with an Apexi N1 muffler, so the question is do I need buy a FCD, walboro fuel pump, and injector for the extra boost that I'll be getting. I did a search and getting confuse because some say that you do and some say that you don't.
thanks

a fcd would be a realy good idea because its never good to have the fuel cut to the motor. and you'll wana get a boost controller as well cuz with the high flow exhaust you'll get some bad boost creep. and yes get a fuel pump cuz the stock one will loose pressure at the top end durring long gear pulls like when drag racing or doing a freeway pull. i learned that the hard way and the stock turbo can only put out 12psi befor it stops producing power so you probly wont need to upgrade your injectors at that boost level if you can get it tuned but it would be a good idea to upgrade at least your secondary's to at least a 750cc. because its always better to be safe then sorry! and all those parts combined are far less then a rebuild that you'll need to do after poping your motor from leaning it out

Fuel cut is the ECU's last resort to trying to save the motor. It's not overly great but it's not bad either. To know whether you need a FCD or not, you need to drive the car and find out if your hitting fuel cut or not. If you are, get a wideband and find out if your safe to let the computer allow the engine to still run with the higher boost.

A boost controller will in NO way prevent boost creep!! This is just plain wrong information. A boost controller can only increase boost, not decrease boost. Porting the wastegate will help prevent boost creep, which would be a good idea with a S4 turbo and a 3" downpipe.

The fuel pump on the T2 was a bit of a weak point, plus it is now 20 years old. If your just going to run at stock boost or slightly higher (via the new exhaust) and the pump is still working to its spec, then the stock pump will still be ok. But upgradeing to the higher flow pump isn't that expensive and is a very good safety precaution.

Once again, if your not getting a boost controller then you won't need to replace the injectors, assuming they are still working properly. Either way, replacing injectors has limited value unless your getting a fuel controller too.

Keep in mine were talking about 20 year old parts here, so were assuming everything is still working properly. If the injectors and fuel pump are not still working to spec then you will be at risk of running lean in the high RPM's at any boost level.

fuel cut is harmless to the engine as long as your injectors aren't leaking badly.

Ask someone like me who has regularly bounced off a fuel cut rev limiter

You'll want to port your wastegate. Running a big exhaust on an S4 turbo is just asking for overboost issue due to the small wastegate size.

Remember you don't get a second chance when you lean out a rotary. Just consider that when upgrading.
