do I need the TII AFM for my N/A to TII conversion?

well, I was almost sure I needed it, and then I read through rotary ressurection's N/A to TII conversion write up. it didn't say anything about needing the TII AFM(at least I didn't see it).

so do I need to get a TII AFM, or can I just use my N/A one?

also, how do you test the boost sensor? I don't know if its working properly.

thanks

Do you already have your motor? You doing the T2 trans too? Just curious to what your setup is gonna be...I'm gonna do the TII swap in my '86 gxl this coming summer.

You don't absolutely need it (the car will run with the NA AFM) but I highly recommend you install the proper AFM.

okay. I'll still get the TII AFM, but I think its going to take a while. so its good to know that I can run it on the N/A one for a little while.

yeah. I bought a wrecked TII for $1200 with a Jspec and rebuilt trans, both have about 40xxx miles on them. and then there's the diff which is in good working condition. only problem is I need a new boot for the left(?) halfshaft. I also got some nice S5 TII wheels

I'm basically just leaving it stock for now (because I have no mmoney) except a 2.5 inch downpipe/presilencer and HKS 60mm exhaust(dual) which I got with the car, and porting the wastegate, and a cheapo cone filter. also getting an FCD.

I should be fine for fuel with this setup, right?

I'm doing this to my 87' SE.

and does anyone know how to check the boost sensor?
the guy I bought the car from said it might not be working properly.
