so i pulled the complete drivetrain out of my shot up (literally) T2 parts car. pulled rear end, tranny, complete motor (with bullet hole in front rotor housing and front cover, needs rebuilt anyway) and wiring harness and computer. but i forgot the throttle calbe and the knock control box and the junk yard already came and picked it up.... i know i need the throttle cable for sure... but do i really need the knock control box?? im going to be running no emissions on a slightly moded engine. upgraded turbo, corksport re-worked computer, MAP computer to get rid of AFM, street port, 38mm wastegate, 1000cc secondaries, and 720 primaries, and front mount.???????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????? so do i need to go back to the junkyard and pay for the knock box that used to be mine (damnit) or can i just leave it out?

Well..

First off, how in the hell did your car get shot up?

Second, the knock box is a good idea, but I think you would be surprised at how many DONT work. I discovered mine didnt work by doing the test in the FSM. I was able to repair mine, but I ran around for the longest time without it. So do you need it to run? No. Should you have it? It cant hurt!

well story goes.... guy has car since he was 16, guy is no like 24 or something. 1987 T2. hacked the car up (made his own blow off valve... poor wiring jobs... i mean poor. rats nest removal, no emmissions, bunch of bullshit ****** rigged modifications, litle interior peices spray painted random colors and under the hood too.) so anyway he blew the rear rotor cuase the idiot had the boost turned all the way (probly hit fuel cut too many times) and blew the rear rotor. so he parked it out in a feild and took and AK47, a 9mm, a bb gun, an axe and a hammer to the car. ( this guy is now a tech at a local volkswagen dealership!!! wtf??) anyway the car was fucked to say the least. ive got picktures as soon as i decide to go get them developed ill share. but i bought car for $100 just for the drivetrain...
