Was messing around with the engine harness, and noticed this stray wire not connected to anything. I know that for CAS (or really any type of shielded RPM signal) wire has a metal braid that protects the signal wire, and usually that is grounded. Is that what I'm looking at here? If so, should I leave it as is, or should I ground it to the engine block somewhere?
The way that shield works, it should only be grounded on the harness side. Grounding THAT end could introduce noise. Neatly tape it to the sheathing so it isn't flapping around, and you're good to go.
