86 gxl 15km on rebuild
on start up its ok but it seems after a minute or so thick white smoke comes out the tailpipes
runs fine just smokes so much other drivers couldnt see and had to pull over
is there any other possible problem other than internal coolant seal?
how about a intake leak or something?

 

What does the smoke smell like? Does your coolant buzzer ever go off? It sounds to me like you may have a coolant leak unfortunately.

 

Does the smoke ever stop?

What is the condition of your exhaust?

Are you still running stock exhaust?

pull the plugs and look for droplets of antifreeze/water on them.


Is your GXL a automatic? it may be leaking fluid on the exhaust.
