Do I need a compression pipe/elbow in order to install a FMIC?

I bought a 3 row greddy FMIC kit and dont have the elbow for it (compression tube)

Can it be installed without this part? (Sorry Im a bit out of it and cant think if there is a different way i.e. soft pipe .... that can be used to make it work or not)
