Alrighty, this figures, i just this week, fixed one thing, and now, anotehr thing is acting up

My shifter is real loose and just flops around, i can put it into a gear, but then the actual stick just kinda sits anywhere, in fith it can look like im in first, and you can pull up on it like the only thing holding it in is the boot

doe sthis mean the linkages and or busing are loose, worn or old aka need to be replaced

 

You need new shifter bushings. You can get them from Mazdatrix or even on ebay . Very easy to install.
I actually have a new bushing kit and lower(the one that bolts on the tranny) boot that I am selling.
