I have the oppertunity to get a downpipe for cheap, but my 88 gxl is non turbo. I understand emissions and all that, I have friends there, so that is no worry. would it be a help to my car to get it is what I need to know

 

if it is a down pipe for a non-turbo, then yes it is about the same power increase on a stock motor as a header.
