Do I have to flush the fuel system before I replace the fuel filter?
OK, I am about to replace the fuel filter on my car, just need to know if I need to drain the fuel system or anything before I take out the fuel filter and put a new one on? I do have a fuel pump kill switch too, so would running the car then just turning it off with the kill switch do the trick? Thanks,

Use the kill switch to stop the engine, then crank the motor a few times to make sure you've cleared the lines. Few things suck more than getting doused with gasoline when you pull the line from the pump off of the filter...

lol, is it really going to be that big of a deal if I just leave the clamp out? I can't really see that fuel line coming off... but if it does it's not going to be pretty. What do you guys think.

Yah, I used those when I did my TID, but I don't have any on hand right now. I will get some of them later probably. But on the bright side I did finally get the clamp on. Took some surgical tools, but I got it done. lol
Too bad the fuel filter still didn't fix my problem, looks like Im takin out the fuel pump tomorrow night. Gonna have to deal with those ever-so-popular 6 rusted out screws though. Wish me luck!

amur, dont see you in this board often lately?
Eff.. anyhow, i replaced it when i had the tranny down last april. Its really easy when you can sit up inside the tranny tunnel and work at that damn fuel filter. Though the braket was rusted to hell, so I had to bust the bracket off. Ohh, and i didn't depressurize either, so i got covered in fuel. No biggie, i believe i was drenched in tranny fluid same day.
I ended up tripple zip-tieing the fuel filter bacl to the side of the car. appears to have worked. Or... at least it lasted longer than the tranny...
