I don't know if I have the front/side air deflectors; not sure what they're refering to, but I do have the rear (black foam) spoiler

how do I know if my suspension is tuned?

Hey thanks for that post, looks like a great model source for the 86's.

Rotorballs, I guess I thought that since you didn't know what size rims were stock on yours, I assumed you had the base like mine and those 5-bolt rims were added. Apparently I was wrong and you must have at least the Sport model. Do you have a spoiler? I don't have cruise control, although I will be adding it next week. Maybe that was added to yours. Its a fairly easy add on with the proper parts.

What's funny is when I bought the car, the guy told me that it didn't have cruise, but the switch came with the instrument panel when it was replaced. Well, I had the car for 4 years and I had to replace the headlight switch a few months ago, while doing so I hooked up the cruise and sure enough the damn thing worked!

I think someone just forgot to hook up the switch when they were doing some work on it.

Thats too much! When I got this car from my dad he said the wipers don't work, the switch is real expensive. Since he knew that he must have had someone check them out. I did the switch fix and they still wouldn't work. Shortly thereafter I was in the engine box and happened to be looking at the wiper motor. Hell, the main wire harness was just hanging there. I plugged it in after shooting some WD-40 in the plug and Voila' brand new wipers. I had checked the fuse but didn't look further because he led me to believe they were just shot, that it had already been checked!

haha that's a good one too Probably the same thing. Someone was doing some work on it and forgot to hook it back up. That or it somehow came lose by itself? Don't you feel stupid for having believed that it wasn't fixable now. All that work replacing the switch and all you had to do was plug in the main harness. I know I feel pretty stupid for having belived him that the cruise didn't work.

The thing about my car was that the guy actually lived in a different state and stored it in the garage across the street from my house to hide from his wife. He was a doctor and spent a ton of money fixing it up to look like new. But the guy across the street did most of the talking about the car for him before I bought it from him. Should have known better than to listen to his BS. He knew I wanted the car because I had wrecked my 87 a few months prior...so I knew I had to have his car

But she's getting a some plastic surgury as soon as the knight sports kit gets here. Taka kaira just shipped it out. Took me half of last year to get that damn kit ordered too. But I can't wait to be driving it on a regular basis again...well once this winter **** goes away

I have found in my junkyard rovings that 86 base automatics are the most likely candidates for an Aluminum hood

86 automatics in general are good candidates.

Sorry to further this discussion.....I have a true rx7 sport the list goes like this.

Aluminium hood

no power steering

has a/c

rear foam spoiler

no sunroof

5-lug aluminium wheels

4-pot front calipers

manual wind up windows

I changed the seats to TII units, don't remember how they looked. Also mine had aftermarket antenna

I have since done a TII swap and now need to paint the car again.

I am keeping this car (been sitting for a year and now considering a major HP job on it) Too many people wanted to buy this car when I was running it. With big HP gain and the weight of the sport some cars will feel my sport.

I don't think so, and I'll prove that it did'nt, power steering was an option.

Hmmm, just double checked...

optional on the 86 sport, standard on the 87 sport.

The storage bins and power steering were on the 87 model.

The cruise can be added by the dealer on any model

The sunroof was an factory option.

The alum hood was very very rare on the sport
