Do gauges exist for the engine lights? Mockup pic inside

Engine lights, idiot lights, whatever you want to call them... In the center of the dash Id like to put up either more pods for gauges or an lcd screen... But Id also like to keep the engine lights somewhere else somehow... Instead of moving the strip of lights, is there any way to wire them up to some sort of gauge? I know Ive seen this type of setup in some older trucks, but I dont know what kind or what year... I remember specifically there was the E-Brake light in the center of the gauge with all the rest of the lights sorounding it...

-Do any type of cars have these gauges anymore?
-Can you take one of these gauges and wire it up to an Rx7?
-Does a gauge like this exist for an rx7?

Thanks

well i supose if you were realy good with plastics/moulding you could conceivably make a replacement that would plug into the harness and would light up little lights/displays as neccisary. however that would be a LOT of work and youde baisicaly end up with what you already have. i have heard of some people relocating it to the glove box, the just pop th glove bow oppen every now and then to make sure everything is ok. but thats pretty ghetto.

That would totally defeat the purpose of having warning lights. They're there to warn you the moment something happens, not just when you feel like looking.

It would be highly unlikely to find something that has the right lights for the FC. Not many cars have low oil and coolant warning lights for example, and these are the most important. Consider relocating the warning light unit to under the Logicon with the stereo.

I had originally wanted to put the lights underneath my radio in the center console, but somehow I was convinced outta it... I also was told that moving those lights were so much of a pain because of them having short wires and unique connectors... Thats why I figured just rewiring everything into a pod would have been easier

You're trying to shoot a deer with a bazooka.
Cutting and lengthening wires is not that big of a deal.  If you think making a custom gauge just for the lights is trivial, I'm sure you can cut and splice in new wires.

ah good idea ted, you could take a din-size panel of platic and punch holes in it for led's. a few p-touch labels and you are good to go. it wont look great, but if you realy want to free up that space for more gauges it would work, but then again you can fit 3 gauges in a din slot............
i just dont think its worth the trouble. but good luck if you try.
