Exclamation Do all FCs use the same UIM gasket?

I have a leaky FPD on my S5 FC. I went into my parts piles and found an S4 fuel rail set so Grabbed both. I am going to use the Banjo bolt off the secondary rail to remove the FPD all together from my fuel system. I need a gasket to replace the existing one when I do the job and I need it quickly. I found several sets on Amazon I could overnight for $4 additional, but they all seem to look like Turbo sets.

My question is does the S5 NA FC use the same UIM gasket as the T2 or S4 NA? I need to get this done quickly, but will order an OEM if needed. And this comes of course come a month away from when I have my down payment ready for an Evo X... Thanks in advance for any help!

Okay, thank you guys. When I got in I managed to break several brittle vaccuum tubes under the UIM. These are 4mm tubes I take it? I guess I'll plan on having the car disabled for some time then while I get this job done correctly. Anything else reccommended to do when changing the Fuel Pulsation damper? It's not every day I get under the UIM.

you cant change out the FPD on an s5. its a solid unit on one fuel rail. change the fuel rail and you are good to go, unless you want to delete it. then get an s4 unit and some an fittings. some will argue for it, but there are also the same who argue against it. its up to you.

Cygnus, I've got an S4 rail. Just need a banjo bolt and a vice to get that old FPD off. The s5 FPD on my car right now was JB welded by the previous owner, but it appears to have gotten through over the years. I am going to get some new / reman injectors in too just in case I was getting a stuck one as I noticed a fuel smell in the intake and some was pooled in the throttle body. I am searching, but do you know off hand the size of the vaccuum hoses to use under the LIM? 3mm or 4mm?

5/32" vacuum hose fits perfect...I think that is 3mm.

I recommend that you go on and take off your LIM from the block...replace that gasket and clean your 6 port sleeves, be sure your rods and actuators move freely. More than half of the s5 NA models I take apart have seized 6 port rods in the LIM.

I can sell you all the gasket set for that engine and I also sell the s4 FPD elimination bolt if you haven't already bought one. I sell these parts in my ebay store.

Also, definitely do the lower fuel injector grommets on the primaries (if not all 4) as they are usually hard as a rock. All of these hardened vacuum rubber pieces can form a larger collective vacuum leak and change the way the car runs...sometimes it will run smoother after you overhaul the intake system this way.

Thanks for the info Kevin (it is Kevin right RR?)

I am fortunate to have working ports but I will at least exercise them manually. I get the nice surge at ~3800 RPM and a bigger one at 5500 RPM from the VDI. The car had the intake port matched and an RB Road Race header to RB true dual exhaust with a K & N drop in .. It's gotten a rusted out body over the years and I am going to miss daily driving the Harbour Blue NA FC come February when I switch to DDing an Evo X or Focus ST.

The thing is just so damn sharp with it's full Koni Yellow's and Tein Pillow ***** (I had to machine the mounts for the pillow ***** up front to get the koni's to fit). The car has been great to me over the past 6 years. I just love the easy throttle steer I get on my neighborhoods roundabout every morning on my way to work and going WOT onto the highway. It's too bad Mazda doesn't sell a mordern FC. They would have my $35k. Not sure what I will do with it yet though. I still have my FD sitting parked with cracked apex seals, so I won't be abandoning the rotary altogether.

I'll be doing the reassembly this week to spend one last month with possibly my last FC. I have the banjo bolt, new fuel lines, S4 primary fuel rail, 5ft of 5/32" ID silcone vacuum tube and injectors en route from WP and a tube of permatex high-temp gasket maker. Just need the gasket now...
