Exclamation Do '90 TII's Have A Special Fuel Cut Sensor? HELP

Hey There,
My FC is in great condition so i'm really hoping that it is not a mechanical problem. This has happened about 6 times now and i've had the car for 3 months and what happens is after the car has sat for a few hours, most of the time over night i'll go to start it and the engine will race up to 3,500 RPM and a second after the revs start to drop and the engine puts a little until the it stops. that takes only 2 secs, so its as if the moment the car is started the fuel is cut off and the engine runs until it burns whats in there (I Hope). then i'll goto start it again and it will start fine or happen once more and start fine the next time and when it gets started i smell fuel like the engine was flooded. Please any input would be much appreciated!!!!!

Yes, it's called the "boost sensor" or the "TPS".

If the boost sensor "sees" pressure over ~9.5psi, it will cut fuel to the rear rotor.

If the TPS "sees" idle voltage and the RPM's are over 2,000RPM, it will cut fuel.

Your description sounds like a brief cold start mis-fire on one rotor.

Keep a lookout for any other symtoms that might point to a cause.
In the meantime check your plugs.

Some additional info:
The overboost fuel cut only cuts the rear rotor injectors.
The >2K RPM fast idle fuel cut shuts off the injectors for both rotors. It's the zoom zoom zoom idle deal.

About a year ago Kevin posted a video of an engine start up on a temporary test bench.
It had a pretty bad cold start mis-fire on the rear rotor.
Here is a link to his video>> 16MB video

Thank you for the input! so does this mean i should get it looked into and fixed? or is this normal activity? Because after it has done that the car drives perfectly fine, without any kind of mis-fire or strange behaviour and like i said it has only happened 6 times in 3 months and i drive the car everyday.

You're good for now.

Just check the plugs to make sure nothing bad is sneaking up on you.
For example, coolant or moisture condensation on the plug tips would be bad.

Were you able to hear/see the mis-fire in the video?
