distinguishing Series V from Sereis IV Motors
I'm about to buy a 1991 FD Turbo II but I did a check on the VIN# online and it said that it was a base model. I don't know if this was just some kind of mistake, or if it really is a basemodel that the guy converted to a turbo II. But I was wondering how I would distinguish a Series V (89-91) motor from a series IV motor (86-88), just by looking at it from the outside. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

the seriesIV engine has a metal rod that goes from the throttle body linkage to the oil metering pump, because the OMP is mechanical. the seriesV does not have the rod b/c its electric

1. Tach reads to 7K on turbo
2. Side skirts on S5 Turbo (very expensive pieces that are quite rare)
3. "Mesh" style wheels...16"
4. Factory boost gauge
5. Gearbox is "ribbed"
6. Viscous limited slip (jack up rear end and both wheels should turn in the same direction if spun by hand)
7. It's really fast
