Arrow Dissapearing clutch pedal

Ok guys iw as driving aroudn tonight, some street drivign and a short highway trip or 2 when all of a sudden my clutch pedal dissapeared. I was driving in 3rd when i came into some slow traffic, i turned and tried to put her down into 2nd and my pedal was nowhere to eb found, it was flat on the ****** floor. I was still able to push her into 2nd and if moved moderately if i revved to 4k.

Well anyway I check the fluid and it was fine, dirty but fine. I had the car off and lifted the clutch pedal by hand, it popped back up. it worked fine ever since.

What the **** was that about?

souds like a slave cylinder problem......could be a slight defection in it. If you have time id take it off-inspect-make necessary changes, and put back on.

get a helper to work the clutch while you eyeball the parts.. Check for loose things, strange noises, jerky movement of the slave cylinder..

Hold the clutch in for a while and see if the slave cylinder moves back in at all.

you may have to take the UIM and junk off to get at the slave cylinder...

Also... did it go down and stay down after you left your foot up, or did id go down al by itself (which would be pretty darn weird)

Also.. stick your beak up under the dash and sii if anything could have gotten caught on the actuator rod that connects the clutch bedal to the master cylinder through the firewall. If a stereo wire got wdged in there, that would be the easiest explanation, (and the easiest fix!!!!!)

probably need to rebuild the clutch master cylander, you dont need to take the uim off to

change the slave, removing the oil filter will give you a bit more room though.

Im assuming it stayed down after a shift since i shift pretty often and didnt see a gradual drop. I am seriously considering tyat wire explanation though. I have a ****** mess of sires under there that sometimes get in the way of my pedal. I zip tied the **** out fo them but they still flal back im bout to put a piee of sheet metal there to hold them back.
