Smile disadvantages of using hks f con besides upgraded ecu

well i dont think ill have enough money to put in a haltech or microtech when i get my street ported motor, upgraded turbo, fuel and intercooler. im going to be boosting about 12 psi. i just wanted to know the disadvantages of using hks f con instead of an upgraded ecu like haltech and microtech. will it be bad for my engine if im using just the f con? i need input otherwise ill just put it off untill i have the money. thanks

The F-CON is like a close to a grand new, unless you're going to buy it used?

Most full standalone EMS units can control ignition also, which the F-CON cannot do.  Standalone EMS fuel control is a lot more complex, as the F-CON only has a single **** (or several RPM bands with GCC control).

stand alone is the way to go because it will give you total control and options, not a walk in the park though
