diffirence between '88 and '90???
the engine in my '88 is going to need attention soon.
a local guy is selling a '90 engine.
if I buy his engine and rebuild it while I still drive my vert, will it work??
all I have looked at so far is the intake manifold, and it is different.
what about the rest of the engine??
is the block the same??

the engines are internally different (i.e lighter rotors, higher compression).. also lighter flywheel.... externally, there isnt an egr valve opening on the top of the motor on the s5 motor... which unless your smogging it, doesnt matter..... there is also a electronic omp on the s5, youll need to swap the front cover from the s4 for the manual omp(i think)... everything else should be interchangable
note... the s5 manifold will fit, but youll have to swap the wiring harness due to all plugs and connectors not being interchangable.. and i think the ohms are different on alot of the sensors

Check the tech section, the swap is in there.
