Will 86-92 ring and pinion directly bolt into a Gsl SE rear end? Are the axle shaft share the same diameter?

My understanding is GSL-SE and 86-91 LSD diffs are the same diff, just a different carrier/housing. So it should be a bolt in.

My bad, meant to say 86-88 NA LSD diffs are the same as GSL-SE.

89-91 NA diffs, on the relatively few cars that got them, were viscus LSDs, AFAIK also interchangeable, but who'd want to?

I have been trying to do some research because my pinion bearing is shot. The local shop quoted me $700 for a rebuild. I found a 86-92 complete diff for $100 bucks. Tryin to figure out if it will work or not

I've been wondering this same thing, but for different reasons. I know the 86-88 differential is longer, but unsure if the ring and pinion gears arw interchangeable.
