Differences with california car

After I bought my '89 GXL and looking everything up I discovered it was a california car. Now what seperates the california car with others. Is it just more emmision bullcrap?

you probably meant California Emissions, california car is a different thing altogether.

and basically yeah.. more emissions bullshit, and less work on your hand if you ever wanted to move to california and get it smogged (dont do it, you'll regret it.)

I think the only differences are no coolent into the manifold when cold thingy(forget the name) and a differnt ecu

CA cars burn cleaner. On the rotary there is no difference on HP, but on some piston engined cars there is a considerable difference in HP because of the fuel maps and trying to bring down the emissions.
