Difference in NA Diff housings

Here is a new one on me. There is a differance in NA Diff housings

yeah, the difference is between S4 and S5.

and you were wondering???

and I can't believe you painted that S5 one...its a alumium housing

well, the paint looks good, but wont last..... and will end up looking worse in the long run........ but looks good now

Well the S5 weighs ~2 lb more than the S4. The S5 has thicker webbing across the "beam" ~.475" vs. ~.320" for the S4. The S5 also has been triangulated in the beam area as well as having the lower web of the beam merge with the output shaft saddle. All in all the S5 is a beefier unit.

Later this week I will post the pics of the REM Isotropically super-finished ring and pinion (4.3 natch) with the NEW S4 LSD unit.
