Difference in intake diameters

Im looking at a filter which has an ID of 80mm. The AFM adapter has an OD of 76.2mm. That makes a 3.8mm difference. Will it fit properly with that much of a gap? Thanks.

You could try neatly wrapping electrical insulation tape around the outside of the adaptor to build up a 2mm thick layer. That'll bring the 76mm OD up to the required 80mm. I know it sounds a a bit dodgy but it will work and you won't see it.

you should be able to just clamp it down on to the adapter. 3.8 mm is not much at all.
