Differance between T2 transmissions?

What is the differance between S4 and S5 turbo transmissions? I've herd the 5th gear is differant but how much? how many mph differant? also what has to be done to install a S5 turbo transmission on a S4 turbo car?

I'm told, through Hypotntz7, there Isn't any difference, except more "ribs" to the casing.

exactly, the actual crossmembers are different shapes..but they'll bolt to the car if you have the corresponding mount

Guess that would explain why the crossmember I just bought wouldnt fit, the dealer thought they were both the same.

I believe that the S4 had a 5th ratio of .762 and the S5 had one of .719.I think it is roughly a 10mph difference at any given rpm.

i got a s4 tranny in my s5. it would bolt right in..also the throw out bearings are differant.
